Sunday is committed to protecting your information. This privacy notice provides details about the information we collect about you, how we use it and how we protect it. It also explains your rights and how to contact us if you have questions about how we use your information.
Information about Sunday
In this privacy notice, references to “Sunday”, “we”, “us” or “our” are to Sunday Singapore Pte. Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of Singapore, and its parent company and its subsidiaries, the “Sunday Group”.
Depending on where and how you interact with us, different companies within Sunday will process your information. You can find out more about the Sunday companies that handle your information, including which company makes decisions about how your information is handled, by contacting us.
Scope of our privacy notice
This notice applies to anyone who interacts with us in relation to our products and services, via any channel, including app, website, email, phone, walk-ins to Sunday-branded accommodations, booking a Sunday-branded accommodation via a third party travel agency, and other channels.
If you book a stay through us at one of our partners’ guest houses, hotels and other lodgings that is not Sunday-branded, that partner will use your personal data as shown in their privacy notice.
This privacy notice applies to individuals who enquire about, purchase or make use of our products and services, such as when a user signs up with Sunday, modifies her account, makes a booking, requests on-demand services, contacts customer support, stays at Sunday-branded accommodations or otherwise communicates or interacts with Sunday.
Sunday’s website and app is not aimed at children, and we do not allow children to book accommodation or stay at our accommodations without a responsible adult. This privacy notice is therefore not aimed at children. If you provide us with information about your children, it is processed as described in this notice.
Ways in which we obtain personal information
We obtain personal information from you and from travel agents and others who book accommodation for you.
Where you provide us with information about other individuals, such as the names of others who will stay at the accommodation you book, you must ensure that they have seen a copy of this privacy policy and are comfortable with you doing this.
We obtain personal information from you through your interactions with us, including by telephone, email, websites, apps, post, social media or face to face, such as in our Sunday-branded accommodations or when you meet a Sunday agent.
We also obtain your personal information from third parties such as:
- Others who book accommodation for you;
- Travel agencies through which you book Sunday-branded accommodation;
- Accommodation providers;
- Service providers who work with us in relation to our product or service;
- Third parties who identify you as the appropriate contact for corporate accommodation marketing.
Categories of personal information
We process two categories of personal information about you and, where applicable, others whom you have booked accommodation for:
- Standard personal information;
- Special categories of information.
Standard personal information
- Contact Information: Name, user name, address, email address, telephone number, profile picture, country of residence, age, gender and date of birth.
- Location Information: Approximate location from your IP address and, if enabled, precise device location when the app is running.
- Transaction Information: Details related to your use of our services, including type of service, date and time, amount charged, days booked or stayed, and referral information.
- Account History: Details of your bookings and contact we have had with you, such as complaints or incidents.
- Usage and Preference Information: Information about how you interact with our website, app or services.
- Log Information: Server logs, IP address, access dates and times, pages viewed, app crashes and browser information.
- Device Information: Mobile device details, operating system, unique identifiers, advertising identifiers and network information.
- Call and SMS Data: Date and time of calls or SMS messages, phone numbers and SMS content.
- CCTV: Personal information collected when you access premises monitored by CCTV.
- WiFi: Login information and usage information when using WiFi offered at our accommodation.
Special category information
Sometimes you may choose to give us special category information about you or others, which may attract extra protections under data protection laws. For example:
- Religious or philosophical beliefs may be revealed by food preferences such as halal or kosher;
- Health information may be revealed by special requests for assistance or disability-friendly accommodation;
- Health information may be revealed if you require medical assistance during your stay.
Purposes and lawful grounds of our processing personal information
We process your personal information for the purposes set out in this notice, based on the applicable legal grounds. Standard personal information is normally processed where necessary for the performance of a contract, our or a third party’s legitimate interests, or where required or permitted by law.
We process standard personal information about you on the basis that it is:
- Necessary for the performance of a contract;
- In our or a third party’s legitimate interests;
- Required or otherwise permitted by law.
We process special category information because:
- You have manifestly made it public;
- Processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest;
- We have your consent;
- Processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Legitimate interests
We process your personal information for a number of legitimate interests, including providing you with services, administering our relationship with you, marketing, service and product improvement, exercising our rights and handling claims.
- To provide and administer our products and services in respect of your booking;
- To administer our relationship with you, our business and our third-party providers;
- To ensure that you can interact with us securely;
- To improve our services and develop new features;
- To send marketing that we think will be of interest to you;
- To prevent fraud and abuse of our services;
- To enforce our terms or protect the rights, property or safety of Sunday, our customers or others;
- To exercise our rights and defend ourselves from claims;
- To participate in any sale, merger or acquisition of all or part of the Sunday business.
Marketing and Preferences
We use your personal information to send you marketing by post, telephone, social media platforms, email, SMS, application notifications and silent notifications to track installation status of the application. We may also use your personal information for online paid marketing activities such as retargeting.
We also use technology to help us understand your personal preferences and interests so that we can send recommendations and marketing communications that are likely to be of more interest to you.
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in our emails, adjusting your device settings to turn off notifications, or contacting us at dataprotection@checkinapp.com.
Analytics and Advertising Services Provided by Others
Third parties provide us with audience measurement and analytics services that analyse your online interactions, serve tailored marketing and report on the performance of that marketing. We also use Google Place API to make suggestions based on your location or search strings.

Sharing your information
We share your information within the Sunday Group and with others who help us provide services to you. We also share your information in accordance with the law.
We share your information with:
- Other members of the Sunday Group;
- Accommodation managers;
- Third-party suppliers and partners;
- Referral contacts, if you use that feature;
- The general public, if you submit content on public forums;
- Law enforcement officials, government authorities or others as legally required;
- Third parties involved in business restructuring, merger, sale or acquisition.
Transfers outside of your country
Sunday uses global information systems. Your data may be transferred outside your country, including to India and Singapore, for the purposes set out in this policy. Sunday ensures adequate safeguards are in place, including contractual protections.

Retention Period
We retain your personal information in accordance with Sunday’s records retention policies. Certain circumstances may require us to retain your data longer, such as for legal claims.

- Port your data to another provider;
- Withdraw consent.
